These are the potentially fatal ‘nasties’. They might, for example, be looking for substances like PMA, PMMA and MDA. ![]() These ones require you to test several scrapings from your drugs. Some tests are slightly more sophisticated and will include chemicals to test for more than one substance. Just because your results say your pill contains MDMA, doesn’t necessarily mean it hasn’t been cut with other – potential deadly – substances. For example, the test won’t pick up every type of ‘nasty’. You might think that they’d be fast and reliable, but the research just isn’t there yet. The short answer ? Drug testing kits (UK) aren’t very accurate. Don’t worry this isn’t a urine test, you just have to leave the drugs. For instance, according to the ‘Marquis’ testing method, MDMA will go purple/ black whereas PMA (a much stronger and more dangerous drug often sold as MDMA) will show no colour change. The reference chart will tell you what colour your drug should be and what other colours mean. Next you’ll observe the colour change and compare it to the reference chart. Place a tiny scraping of your drugs onto a plate and drop the testing solution onto it. Once your kit arrives, you’ll need to get equipped with your Breaking Bad-style goggles and gloves. Then, in theory, the kit tells you whether your drugs contain any nasties or whether you’ve been fobbed off with a baggie full of talc. If you’ve bought MDMA for example, you’ll buy an MDMA testing kit to detect the presence of MDMA. Kits are available for commonly-used drugs including MDMA, cocaine and ketamine. Make sure to use an amphetamine test strip if you suspect that the sample might contain amphetamines. The drug you want to test will influence the kit you buy. Note: If Marquis turns orange, Liebermann generally will too. Unfortunately, at this time there is no way to tell which one it is. It turns yellow in the presence of cocaine, but will turn a rusty red color if the cocaine is cut with either levamisole or lidocaine. Liebermann is useful for testing for the presence of levamisole and/or lidocaine. ![]() It might be because of impurities left over during the manufacturing process, a new precursor (main ingredient) used to make cocaine, a bulking agent, or something else. We’re not certain why cocaine has started reacting with Marquis. If your sample turns a darker orange, you may want to use an amphetamine test strip to see if any unwanted amphetamines are present. In recent years, however, the following three reactions have become “expected results” for cocaine:Īny reaction other than the three listed above should be considered “unexpected” for cocaine. Previously, Marquis reagent would not react with cocaine. If the reaction isn’t even a little bit blue, your sample does not contain cocaine. If Morris reagent turns any shade other than bright blue, your sample is not reacting as expected for cocaine. ![]() You’ll only see the final color after putting a drop of B on the sample too, and then stirring the mixture for 30 seconds. Ignore these many substances turn blue after the first drop. Note: After putting the first drop (bottle A) onto your sample, you may see blue specks appear. Our full instruction pamphlet is also included as a physical copy with your order. Read our “ reagent drug checking instructions” page FIRST to learn how to test correctly. Whether you have pressed pills, crystals, or powder, there is no way to tell what drug you might have without testing it first, and only a lab can actually confirm what’s in your drugs. Of note: Many people believe that they can tell which drug they have by looking at, tasting, touching, or smelling it, but there are over 25,000 drugs on the market. Beware of “purity tests” – we have yet to come across any that actually work as intended. Our cocaine kit can give you information about whether your cocaine might be cut with levamisole or lidocaine. Some long-term cocaine users have died from otherwise treatable illnesses, as a result of levamisole inhibiting their immune systems. People who ingest levamisole too frequently for a long time can eventually develop immune issues. Levamisole can be stimulating, and lidocaine numbs your tongue and gums. Both of these substances make the appearance, taste, and smell of cocaine seem authentic. Two of the most common cocaine cuts are lidocaine (which numbs your skin) and levamisole (which is used to de-worm cattle).
